Of course turning an old and unused tire shop into an edgy industrial and elegant home does sound like a planet-friendly makeover showcasing the many benefits of adaptive reuse. But the Tire Shop Project goes way beyond that by simply merging the residence of designers Mark Fekete and Viviana de Loera and their workspace into one.
But it is much more than the color scheme that catches your eye here with hickory quartz countertops and raw metal adding textural contrast and beauty to the polished interior. Moroccan-inspired tiles in the bathroom and a partition in the living area bring pattern while a cool sliding barn door makes a bold visual statement in the bedroom.
While the exterior has a more edgy and industrial appeal the interior is draped in white and muted colors to give it a more modern vibe. It is the ground floor that contains the living spaces while the top floor contains the bedrooms bathrooms guest room and a stress-free home office. The extensive use of wood links the exterior and the interior aesthetically creating a cozy functional family home.
The contains three different levels with the basement floor housing the home theater study guest space bathroom and laundry while the ground level contains the open plan living area along with the kitchen and dining space.
